| RSVSR Tips BO7 Shower Camo Why Top 5 Was So Brutal |
 |
It's January 2026 and BO7 lobbies feel like a constant reminder of what I missed. Every other match there's somebody showing off that Shower camo, the one with the little shooting stars skating across the receiver, and it still gets under my skin. I'm not proud of it, but I've even caught myself reading about stuff like CoD BO7 Bot Lobby setups just because the regular mastery grind feels so slow after the event rush.
What Made Shower Hurt
The Astra Malorum event ended on December 9 and the rules were simple in a way that almost made it worse: finish the updated map's main Easter egg, then put up points in Directed Mode. Each bracket only paid out the camo to the top 5 players, so it wasn't just "play a lot." You had to land in a bracket that didn't have three people who basically live in Zombies. It turned into this weird mix of skill, time, and pure matchmaking luck, and everyone knew it.
My Run, My Mistake
I went in with a plan and stuck to it. I ran the XM325 because it covered too many situations to ignore, and I leaned on Ray Gun alternate ammo for the ugly parts of boss fights. I'd sprint through quest steps solo, usually clearing Acts 1, 2, and 3 in under 45 minutes, then I'd park myself in the castle courtyard and just work the loop. Train, thin the herd, grab drops, repeat. On my last night I hit 58,000 and for a whole hour I was sitting in 4th, refreshing the board like it was a stock ticker. Then it updated and I slid to 7th behind a 62k run. No drama, no close finish, just gone.
Bracket RNG and the Aftertaste
That's the part that still bugs me: the bracket RNG. I've got friends who aren't even cracked players, barely scraping a 1.0 K/D in pubs, and they landed soft brackets where 30k was enough. Meanwhile I'm up against people who look like they practice routes on spreadsheets. And sure, that's competition, but it didn't feel like a fair fight when the "difficulty" was basically a dice roll. All that stress for an emblem and a couple of tokens is a rough trade.
Where I'm At Now
Now it's back to the standard mastery crawl, and chasing Nebula in public matches is just a different kind of exhausting. Headshots turn into a fight with teammates, spawns, and your own patience, and you can see why people start looking sideways for shortcuts. I'm still trying to keep it legit, but I won't pretend I don't get the appeal when the game dangles status behind a leaderboard and then moves on. If Treyarch keeps doing that, more players are going to lean on marketplaces and services that sell game items or help smooth out the grind, and that's where names like RSVSR keep coming up in chat instead of disappearing.
