Mifsud Wins Australian Title
James Mifsud won the Australian National Championship on Sunday, beating Vinnie Calabrese 6-1 in the final.
The tournament at the RACV Club in Melbourne saw Mifsud concede just four frames in six matches and score a high break of 133.
Earlier this year, Mifsud narrowly missed out on the Oceania Championship, losing 6-5 in the final to Kurt Dunham, who now has a two year pro tour card.

Race To The Ricoh – Champion of Champions
The field for this year’s Champion of Champions is shaping up, with 2015 winner Neil Robertson set to defend his crown against a field including the likes of Masters victor Ronnie O’Sullivan and World Champion Mark Selby.

Ali Carter’s recent World Open win saw him join the field for Ricoh Arena, Coventry this November 7-12.

Northern Ireland Open Leads Ticket Race
The Northern Ireland Open leads the league table of ticket sales among the new Home Nations events.

The tournament comes to the Titanic Exhibition Centre in Belfast from November 14 to 20 and it will be the first pro snooker tournament in Northern Ireland for eight years.

WM U21: Viertelfinale Kleckers - Sijun 5:4 mit 72 im Decider!
Nun wartet Yuan's Landsmann im Halbfinale auf Lukas Kleckers. Auch Xu Si hat dem Turnier bereits seinen Stempel aufgedrückt und hat aktuell das höchste Break von 135 Punkten.
Im zweiten Halbfinale trifft der der Schweizer Alexander Ursenbacher auf Ka Wai Cheung aus Hong Kong. Hong Kong hat keinen geringeren als die ehemalige Nr. 13 der Profiwelt, David Roe als Coach engagiert.

Ali Carter, Stuart Bingham, Steve Davis and Barry Hearn took part in a clay pigeon shoot on Wednesday to help raise money for St Francis Hospice.
Carter and Bingham took time out of their practice schedule ahead of the Paul Hunter Classic to join World Snooker Chairman Hearn and legend Davis for the charity event at Down Hall near Bishop’s Stortford.
Carter will be defending the title at the Paul Hunter Classic in Germany and also won the recent World Open in China.

U21-WM: Chinese Xu Si triumphiert nach Wahnsinns-Comback
Der Chinese Xu Si hat die U21-Weltmeisterschaft gewonnen. Im Finale im belgischen Mol schlug er den Schweizer Alexander Ursenbacher mit 6:5. Der 18-jährige Xu sicherte sich damit gleichzeitig einen Platz auf der Maintour für zwei Jahre ab der Saison 2017/18. Dabei musste er im Endspiel einen 3:5-Rückstand wettmachen. Xu hatte im Halbfinale den Deutschen Lukas Kleckers mit 5:2 ausgeschaltet.

Beim Paul Hunter Classic in Fürth ist Titelverteidiger Ali Carter in der dritten Runde gescheitert. Er unterlag Yan Bingtao mit 3:4. Der junge Chinese erreichte dadurch das Achtelfinale am Sonntag und trifft dort auf Dominic Dale. Carter hatte zwar eine 121 vorgelegt, doch Yan konterte im weiteren Verlauf mit Breaks von 63, 56, 70 und 50 Punkten.

In Fürth gibt es in diesem Jahr ein Doppel-Turnier: Neben dem „normalen“ gemischten World-Snooker-Main-Tour Event wird auch das WLBS Turnier „Paul Hunter Ladies Classic“ ausgetragen. Die ersten Runden fanden im Ballroom in Nürnberg statt, doch das Halbfinale und Finale am Sonntag sind parallel zum PHC in der Stadthalle in Fürth zu sehen.

Paul Hunter Classic: Mark Selby gewinnt zum dritten Mal in Fürth
Mark Selby hat zum dritten Mal das Paul Hunter Classic gewonnen. Im Finale in Fürth setzte er sich mit 4:2 gegen Tom Ford durch. Schon 2011 und 2012 hatte Selby in Franken triumphiert und ist damit alleiniger Rekord-Champion beim deutschen Klassiker. Breaks von 85, 72 und 58 Punkten verhalfen Selby zum Sieg. Aber auch mit seinen Safeties setzte er Ford immer unter Druck.

Bingtao Eases Through in Barnsley
Yan Bingtao progressed to the second round of qualifying for the Shanghai Masters, thanks to a 5-0 whitewash of Thailand’s Noppon Saengkham in Barnsley.
